July 2010: New Galleries Uploaded
A new gallery featuring a recently completed project exploring the enduring power of trees. I was impressed by the tenacity and persistence of trees in the landscape – extending even into death.
For There is Hope for a Tree . . .
This project began during the period when I first began intensely studying Near Eastern eschatology (and, my current research is on Egyptian afterlife beliefs) and I was struck by the power of a passage from Job 14:7. The full quote is at the top of the gallery page.
The passage became an introductory quote for my paper at the time and has stayed with me throughout working on this project.
